and to help the world communicate.

For the arduous work and dedication of all Translators, thank you!

International Translation Day

30th of September

Saint Jerome's Day

The patron Saint of translators, Saint Jerome, who lived in the IV and V centuries, was a man that, among the transitions in his life, from son of rich heathens, to lawyer, to theologian, monk, hermit, priest, and secretary to the pope, dedicated decades of his life editing and translating the bible which is read today, the Vulgata. As such, he gained Knowledge of languages and other subjects, and applied  all his Dedication to his Mission. His work is of such renown that still to this day it is appreciated and valued such that he is claimed as the patron saint not only of translators, but also librarians, students, archivists, and archaeologists... he also worked towards his spiritual Evolution, and the painting that is portrayed in the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos (Lisbon) shows the desert isolation devoid of all goods where he meditated, where he can be seen in the company of a lion, that follows him, grateful to him for having removed the thorn from its paw...

Today, our way of life is different and we should reveal ourselves contrary to being "invisible", showing to the world our lineage to those who worked to Communicate with Dedication, Loyalty, and the pursuit of Excellence with a Vision to aid the Understanding between peoples. Let us make use of the Gift and inheritances that our patron has left us and add the advantages of our Evolution.

We are thankful - as certainly are all our clients that remain loyal to us and is testimony to their satisfaction - to all the Excellent Professionals that share our Values and journey with us to break down frontiers and ... hopefully along the way remove a few thorns!...

(P.S.: if you would like to remove some thorns, visit our site http://www.tecnilingua.pt/pt/go/filantropia and choose one to minimize – today!)
